About us

Based in Šiauliai, we contribute to the process optimisation of other companies by taking on manual services and production operations. We currently provide assembly, packaging and labelling services for a wide range of products, as well as the production of paper straws and crown corks (with PVC and PVC-free inserts). From 2024, we provide UV printing services. Our corporate management processes ensure high quality and timely delivery of services and optimum logistics costs for services and production.

The core of our company is our employees, the vast majority of whom have disabilities. We continuously create and maintain jobs for this group. Each employee brings unique skills and perspectives that result in exceptional craftsmanship and quality products. Collaboration and innovation thrive here because the diverse skills of the workforce are valued and harnessed, leading not only to higher quality but also to a strong sense of community.

Being able to provide quality services and products means we enjoy long-lasting and high-quality cooperation with our customers.

Values

Our history

We are the only company in the Šiauliai region where the majority of employees are people with visual impairments. Our history began in 1953, when blind people, brought together by Petras Žalis and Julius Balius, started to produce plywood containers for the needs of the Elnis factory. This marked the beginning of the Šiauliai branch of the Panevėžys Production Training Combine of the Lithuanian Society of the Blind.

In 1956, the LAD Šiauliai Production Training Combine was established, and in 1960, the first Combine was built in Šiauliai with the Society’s funds. This legacy of the Society continues to serve our company today.

In 1989, the combine was renamed the LASS Šiauliai Company, and in 2005 we reorganised our structure and became the Public Institution “Aksida”, where we have been successfully continuing our activities until today.
